Ima Eljas Iduozee is a Helsinki born choreographer and performer working in the fields of dance, theatre and performance art.  At the very beginning of his choreographic career, Iduozee dedicated most of his time on movement research. This hands on practice unfolded as his debut creation This is the Title premiered in 2012, with acclaim from both critics and audiences. The work has now toured in 14 countries across Europe, North-America and Asia. Reconstructing the conventions of breaking and contemporary dance, This is the Title was also a contemplation on Iduozee´s personal body history.

In 2015 the annual honorary prize of the Finnish Critics Association, Critics Spurs´, was given to Iduozee, as an acknowledgement for the best artistic breakthrough of the year. His debut work This is the Title was selected for the Aerowaves Twenty circuit for 2016, amongst 20 emerging European choreographers. In 2016 Iduozee graduated from the Arts University of Helsinki (Theatre Academy).

Iduozee´s works are characterised by a rigorous physical approach, that always apply the living body in motion. This fundamental starting point meet with the notions of language, representation, identity and memory. Iduozee´s latest work The Garden of Eden (2017) re-constructs the narrative of Adam & Eve and re-imagines the past, present and future of people of color, using afrofuturism as a platform. The work premiered and played during 3.8.-7.8.2017 with all performances sold out. Earlier works include The Body Of Work (2016), Purple Nights (2015) commissioned by the Stockholm City Theatre, Rosary (2015) commissioned by Pori Dance Company and Perfect Day (2014) for the Helsinki City Theatre. Iduozee has expanded his choreographic practice into various disciplines, collaborating with fashion designers and pop artists, such as Tuomas Merikoski and ALMA.

As a dancer, Iduozee has worked in a range of musicals, theatre and dance productions with Sebastien Ramirez, Neil Hardwick, Sonya Lindfors and Tero Saarinen.
